Giving birth on your own terms, while honoring the authenticity of your character, nature, and essence can be tremendously powerful and expansive.

From my personal positive experience and with the highest regard for every woman and mother-to-be, I’ve come to understand there are many ways of being and doing. And they are all valid.

My wish for you is that you realize one key life-changing fact: you have everything you need to build your vision and design a beautiful birth, and I’m here to support you throughout your journey of making it come true.

Let’s get to know each other, here’s a bit more about me

  • I’m originally from Panama in Latin America

  • Mother of two girls (had them in my late thirties)

  • I’m a yoga enthusiast

  • Food is my love language

  • I speak English, French and Spanish

  • I’ve lived in Singapore since 2010.

  • I’ve trained with Dona International and ChildBirth International

I firmly believe that giving birth is a natural process for our bodies. One that works generally well if unaltered. And I believe in your autonomy and free will, especially when it comes to envisioning your own birth experience.

Having had an unexpected at-home birth made me realize the extraordinary potential that lies within the female body. How you’re capable of anything you set your energy into when you’re in the right space and have the right conditions for it.

AND I’M DELIGHTED TO HAVE YOU HERE.

And I live in constant gratitude because life has given me more than I expected.

BECOMING A DOULA

Today, I guide and support expecting and new mothers in Singapore through the intense and transformational journey of giving birth and navigating the often overwhelming postpartum period.

My calling to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula began with my own experience of becoming a mother in Singapore. Living in a new country during such a life-changing time became a profound process of self-discovery. I wasn’t always 100% sure of what I wanted, but I was absolutely certain about what I did not want to be part of my birth story.

FINDING MY DREAM BIRTH TEAM

This led me to research and evaluate how I wanted to bring my baby into this world, and who could make up the best team for this to happen intentionally and according to my vision.

In the end, things didn’t happen according to my plan – my first baby had another idea of how she wanted to make her big entrance. So, after experiencing contractions, and almost without notice, my daughter decided to be born at home. However, I was able to witness first-hand how all the previous preparation I went through with my husband and then with the support I received from my birthing dream team: my husband, doula, and healthcare provider shaped my experience into the most positive one I could have ever imagined.

THE EYE-OPENING COLLECTIVE EXPERIENCE

Then, when sharing with other new moms I realized there were several stories loaded with fear, sadness, emotional pain, mental distress, loneliness, and vulnerability.

And their stories led me to ask myself the question that defined my path forward: why is an experience with the potential to become the most beautiful and empowering one a woman can go through, be filled with such sorrow, sadness, and heartache?

THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION

Thinking about my own story gave me the answer to that powerful question. From my perspective, the answer is: little or no preparation and knowledge about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, the acceptance that giving birth is a process as natural to our bodies as eating or sleeping, and most importantly: the lack of having a birth team who respects your vision and honors your process.

HOW I’M HERE TO SUPPORT YOU

So, I realized there’s so much room to ensure women and their families in Singapore have enriching and positive experiences preparing for the arrival of their babies and transitioning into parenthood.

And that’s why I’m here, sharing this with you."
